Today, the number of electronic devices that can access the internet and have the ability to generate/process data is increasing exponentially compared to the past. With this increase, it is observed that there is a great increase in the amount of data that needs to be processed and stored online. In the future, with the expansion of the usage areas of concepts such as the Internet of Things and cyber physical systems, it is predicted that a much larger scale of data processing and storage need will arise than is experienced today.

The concept of “Big Data” has entered to the literature with the latest developments described above and includes theoretical and practical studies aiming to realize these data processing and storage needs, which have emerged today, in the most effective, efficient and secure way.

In the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, it is planned to work on software architectures and software that will enable large-scale data to be processed effectively and securely.
