With its multidisciplinary nature, our department aims to provide students with a wide range of competencies. Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is especially based on basic engineering and science branches such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics. This field acts as a bridge between different science and engineering disciplines including Health and Medicine, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry and Physics, Business, Industry, Energy, Electric-Electronics, Control and Automation, Machinery, Manufacturing, Aircraft-Space, Atmosphere and Earth.

According to the QS University Rankings by Region announced in January 2018, ITU has shown the highest achievement among the universities from Turkey with its 11 faculties including the Faculty of Computer and Informatics. The results reveal that ITU has received a total of 926 references to scientific output in the field of artificial intelligence in the last five years and is ranked first among Turkish universities. Under the guidance of this valuable academic staff and together with its students, the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Department aims to rediscover and expand the possibilities of interconnected disciplines in order to be at the forefront of technology.
